Why Firefox?

Firefox is the only truly free modern browser, so I will continue to use it despite also having some valid reasons to be upset about its development.

The single best feature of Firefox that no other browser has an adequate equivalent of is the Tree Style Tab add-on.

Tree Style Tab enables a whole new paradigm of web browsing that previously was not possible:

• Because tabs are stacked vertically, many tabs are easy to keep track of
• Because tabs are indented hierarchically, it is easy to see the browsing history that led to a page
• Use case scenario: you are browsing Wikipedia on a topic, and the page links to ten other pages.
  • Before TST, you click on the first link, read parts of the new page, click back, and repeat for each next link. If you keep all pages open, you eventually run out of horizontal space in your tab bar to read all of the tab titles. If you use multiple windows to manage the width of your tab titles, you eventually have to manage too many windows.
  • With TST, you open all ten links as child tabs, enabling you to reference each page, easily manageable in one window.
